Director of Extension

The Directorate of Research is vested with the responsibility of planning and execution of programmes of extension work based on the results of research and work in cooperation with the Research wing of the University. The Director of Extension is the Member Secretary of the Research and Extension Advisory Council (REAC) and formulates policies and programmes of Extension activities of the University and present to REAC. The frontline extension activities are carried out through, 13 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), 13 District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centres (DAATTC), Agricultural Information and Communication Centre (AI&CC), Farmer’s Call Centre, electronic wing and through ANGRAU publications viz., Vyavasayam, Journal of Research ANGRAU, e-News letter. Further, Director of Extension is responsible for organizing State/Regional level Kisan Mela, Village Adoption Programme, Front line demonstrations, Farmer’s Field Schools, On-Farm Trials, Sensitization workshops, zonal workshops, annual review meetings Technology week, Exhibitions, Season long/vocational training programmes, Diagnostic visits, Organizing field days/ farmer-scientist interaction meeting / exposure visit/ study tour of farmers / campaign/ Rythusadassu/Awareness programme and development of DVD of the technologies.

The Director of Extension is supported by Principal Scientists (Extension), in carrying out the administrative activities of the office of Director of Extension.
