Food Plant Operations
Overview
Six courses are being offered by this department. All courses are Student READY (Rural and Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana) courses. These include Seminar, Research Project, Experiential Learnning Programmes, Industrial Tour, In-Plant Training.
READY courses. The students will be attached to all the teachers available in the college. This means, increased supervision and concentration on every student. The students are being subjected to prepare synopsis for the seminar and prepare the research project report with the guidance of teacher attached.
In In-plant training student READY course, the students are being deputed to the respective allotted food industry where the student is required to stay in the industry for a period of 4 months. The student is subjected to work in different departments such as procurement, processing, quality control, packaging, etc. to gain practical knowledge and experience.
Basic Engineering
The department is offering 16 credits for courses Engineering Drawing & Graphics, Electric Engineering, Workshop Technology, Computer Programming & Data Structures, Electronics Engineering and Fluid Mechanics.
BASIC SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES:
There are seven courses being offered by this department. These include Engineering Mathematics, English Language, Crop Production Technology, Statistical Methods and Numerical Analys.
The computer is provided with 19numbers of desktop systems. The ICT course is being conducted in this lab besides some basic courses of computers like C language for computing. These computers run heavy software like MATLAB as a part of curriculum.
The English Language Lab is also proposed to be conducted in the same space as computer Lab is conducted for communicative skills, writing skills, presentation skills and inter personal skills. The systems are equipped with head phones and speaker.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT:
The Department of Physical Education offers 2 credit courses to the students enlightening the importance of physical fitness, sports and games. The college is having play courts and there are one volley ball courts, one ball-badminton courts, one baskball court, one tennikoit court, one long jump pit, one shuttle courts, four TT board in the college, , three carom boards, one gym room in boys hostel, one gym in girls hostel and open gyms in both hostels, one shot put court, one javelin throw court, discus throw court, etc. Every year the college takes the college contingent to participate in Inter-Collegiate Sports, Games and Cultural meet conducted by the University. University Champions will be allowed to participate in Inter-University meet conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs at national level competitions.
